What’s On

We are crazy about our neighbourhood, so we run lots of regular initiatives that aim to strengthen the spiritual and social cohesion of our community.

A key vehicle for our work in the Brooklyn neighbourhood is Two Todman, our home and community centre. This space hosts our chapel, a thrift store, co-working lounge, and a community space where we host exhibitions, gigs, workshops, and neighbourhood meetings. You can find out more about Two Todman right here.

DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

Fortnightly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in homes.

Discipleship groups are our key way of getting to know Jesus and each other more deeply. We meet fortnightly to learn, pray, and reflect together. On the alternating weeks these groups choose a practice of hospitality and mission to the local neighbourhood. To find out more about discipleship groups contact Scottie.

BROOKLYN ALL-COMERS CHOIR

Fortnightly 6.30-8pm Wednesdays at 2 Todman St, Brooklyn.

A casual choir of 30 locals ranging in age from 5 to 75 that gets together fortnightly on Wednesdays at our community centre, Two Todman. Bringing together people of all abilities, we sing everything from Abba to waiata, Christmas carols to Disney hits. All are welcome. Sign up at https://linktr.ee/brooklynchoir

NEIGHBOURHOOD BOARD GAMES

Fortnightly 7.30-9pm Thursdays at 2 Todman St, Brooklyn

A get-together of locals from throughout the neighbourhood who play games and eat some dessert together. Everyone is welcome of all ages and abilites. For more info, text 027 249 2627.

BROOKLYN TWILIGHT FESTIVAL

2-9pm Saturday the 14th of November, 2026

In 2023, our church initiated a partnership between a variety of local community groups to restart the Brooklyn community festival. For a number of reasons, this had not happened in 13 years. This has now grown into a thriving event on the local calendar, attracting up to 5,000 locals. This is now a key expression of our love for this neighbourhood. www.brooklynfestival.co.nz

RE-NEW COMMUNITIES CAMP

Labour Weekend, El Rancho, Waikanae

On Labour Weekend, we gather together with the other church-plants in our movement, Re-New Communities, to worship, pray, eat, and share together. This is a key moment of connection with others doing neighbourhood mission and ministry with the same heart we do.
